This foundation in Trenton, OH, was leaking like crazy before we installed a new waterproofing system in the basement. The foundation was made of stone, and while stone foundations are known to be very sturdy, they are also known to leak through the mortar. After installing our french drains beneath the floor, installing a sump pump and a dehumdifier, and wrapping the stone foundation with our vapor barrier, the musty smells immediately waned off. The homeowner was very happy with the overall outcome of the project.

On top of installing a full waterproofing system for this basement in Newport, Kentucky, we also installed our moisture barrier. Our CleanSpace vapor barrier is our most economical wall option, but comes with some great benefits. For one, it can channel water leaks coming from the wall into the subfloor drainage system. This homeowner gave us a call because they suspected their existing sump pump was failing. They noticed it wasn't running as often as it normally should, and when they looked under the lid, the water line was above the activating switch. We replaced their old sump pump for them with our SuperSump sump pump. We also attached our UltraSump 4 battery backup system to the sump pump. The UltraSump pump goes fits in the sump liner, and is powered by a battery, (which is off to the right of the "after" picture). The UltraSump will turn on in case the main pump fails, or the power goes out. This homeowner won't have to worry about pump failures any longer thanks to the Basement Systems technologies. 

The sinking corner of this garage in Newport, KY, was causing a large crack to appear between the mortar in the block wall. When a block wall cracks due to settling, it commonly appears in a "stair-step" fashion. If you'll notice in the before picture, the crack looks like a staircase, and so that's where the name comes from. This often happens because the weakest point in a block wall is the mortar, so the mortar breaks away first. If you'll notice in the after photo, we were able to lift the foundation back up with our steel pier system, effectively closing the crack. Not only do our steel piers allow us to lift a structure back up, they also allow us to guarantee the foundation won't move vertically for the lifetime of the structure. After we completed the job, the homeowner was happy to be able to seal the crack back up without the thought of it ever being able to move again.
