Using PolyLEVEL, an expansive polyurethane foam we lift and level sunken concrete slabs. The foam expands beneath the surface of the concrete lifting the sunken concrete slab. This basement in Ansonia, OH, was going through an assortment of problems, all due to hydrostatic pressure that had built up around the foundation. The first and most important issue at hand were some bowing walls. The secondary issue was moisture and leaks. We tackled both problems head on by installing a wall bracing system and a basement waterproofing system. Our PowerBraces were used to brace the wall, and they are a patented product through the SupportWorks exclusive network. These beams are made of galvanized steel, and they are coated in zinc to prevent rusting. The bases of the beams were installed into the floor slab, and the tops of them were secured to the floor joist system with specially designed brackets. This bracing system will ensure that the walls won't move. For our waterproofing system, we fitted the coves in the basement with our subfloor WaterGuard drains. We then installed a TripleSafe sump pump in the corner of the basement to discharge water. Lastly, we installed a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to further help control moisture. The drainage system, the sump pump system, and the dehumidification system are all patented products through the Basement Systems exclusive network. The homeowner was left impressed with our crews knowledge of the products they were installing.
