Foundation Services Photo Album: Foundation Repair in Ansonia, OH

This home in Ansonia, OH, had settled into the soil over time. This process caused doors to stick, windows to stick, and cracks in the brick exterior. To stabilize the home, we underpinned the foundation with our helical pier system. We started by excavating around the home to create cavities underneath the base of the home, it's footing. We then drilled our piers down vertically underneath each cavity, and then we transferred the weight of the home to the piers by attaching brackets. Lastly, we lifted the foundation back up with hydraulics and then covered the piering system with backfilled soil. This circle highlights on of the many cracks in the brick exterior. Often the first place to crack due to settling is from the corners of windows. Windows and doors are often the weakest parts in a wall, and so they are the first to crack. This window in the bottom right corner of the photo was very sticky as well for the same reason.
