The Basement Doctor of Cincinnati Before & After Photos

This wall in a basement of a Erlanger, KY, home was deflecting inwards. To repair the failing wall, our crew braced the wall with our PowerBrace system. The steel beams are coated in zinc to prevent rusting, and they ran vertically up against the wall. At the top of the beams, we secured the braces to the floor joist system with specially designed top brackets. These brackets help evenly distribute the load of the wall against the floor joist system, which helps prevent damage to the basement ceiling. The homeowner was happy to know that our system will stop their wall from toppling inwards.

This sunroom had settled away from the rest of the home causing gaps, cracks, and other problems for the room. We stabilized this room by installing nine push piers around the perimeter of it. The push piers will ensure that this room stops settling. We installed three of the push piers on the left side of the room through the concrete patio. We then covered the patio with concrete, concealing the piers completely.

This chimney was starting to tilt away from the home, leaving the sealant between the chimney and the home compromised. If left unattended, the chimney could become damaged beyond repair. Luckily, the homeowner gave us a call so we could fix it with our peer underpinning system right away. Now, the chimney is stabilized and lifted back to where it was originally built. The homeowner can now seal the chimney for good. 

The basement in this home in Fort Mitchell, KY was moldy, wet, and dusty. We offered to install our waterproofing system for the homeowner, and they agreed. Our system included our WaterGuard subfloor drains, our SuperSump sump pump, and our CleanSpace vapor barrier walls. The vapor barrier allows water to flow down from the walls into the drains beneath the floor, keeping musty water smells out from your living area. The vapor barrier also makes for a great pre basement finishing product as it can protect drywall and other types of walls from water damage. Even if you don't plan on finishing your basement, the vapor barrier can stand alone as a beautiful, clean, reflective wall, covering all the cracks, stains, and dirt.  

This poured foundation in Fairfield, Ohio, had a large horizontal crack running across one of the basement walls — a clear sign of inward bowing caused by soil pressure. The homeowner wanted to address both the structural issue and the occasional water seepage that had started appearing along the floor.

To stabilize the foundation, we installed our PowerBrace™ system, a set of zinc-coated steel I-beams that are anchored to the floor and joists to permanently support the wall and even allow for gradual straightening over time.

Along the perimeter, we installed our WaterGuard® subfloor drainage system, which captures water at the footing level and directs it to a sump pump before it can reach the basement floor. While not visible in the photos, we also added a SuperSump® system, known for its high-capacity performance and clean, sealed design.
