This crawl space repair project in Hamersville, OH, was documented through video footage up on our Youtube channel. Shown in this before and after set are the two main products that allow us to ensure the vapor barrier stays protected. The SmartSump sump pump is hooked up to drainage underneath the dirt floor in the crawl space, and was installed in the lowest graded portion of the crawl space. This sump pump will make sure that the vapor barrier doesn't flood. The SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier, also seen in the after photo, will make sure this crawl space humidity levels are controlled 24/7, 365. The dehumidifiers condensation pump ties right into the sump pump, making for a completely automated system. The dehumidifier is pointed towards the access well, and is considered the world's most efficient dehumidification system.
This crawl space was in need of a repair due to the presence of high moisture and humidity levels. These high levels could end up damaging the wooden parts of the crawl space if not accounted for. Luckily, the homeowner caught this situation early on and gave us a call for a free inspection. After we encapsulated the crawl space, the homeowner also noticed their house smelled better and their home air quality had improved. It's safe to say this encapsulation process prevented their home from costly repairs in the future.
After encapsulating and insulating this crawl space, we installed the cherry on top, the SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. This dehumidifier was invented by our Basement Systems team and is an exclusive product to our network, meaning you can only get this through us in our service area. Since being invented, it has been tested and tweaked over many years to have some of the best specs for a dehumidifier that does not have a clunky heat exchange core.
Qualities and specs for this patented dehumidifier:
This bowed wall in Wilmington, OH was a serious concern for the homeowners. The visible gap in the middle of the wall aligned with the frost line outside, where soil pressure is typically strongest. To correct the issue, we installed our PowerBrace system, which stabilizes the wall without damaging floor joists and resists rust for long-term protection. For this project, we excavated along the outside of the foundation to relieve soil pressure, allowing us to tighten the braces and close the gap immediately. The result is a stabilized foundation and peace of mind for the homeowners knowing their wall is secure and supported for years to come.
