This home had a crawl space that had moisture issues and it was not very well insulated. We encapsulated using our CleanSpace vapor barrier and our SilverGlo insulation panels. We also installed a SaniDry Sedona to dehumidify, and a SmartPump to pump out water. The result is a well functioning crawl space that will save the homeowners money down the road on their energy bills and costly wood repairs.
This home in Union, KY, was showing clear signs of foundation settlement, including a widening gap between the brick and vinyl siding and a stair-step crack in the brick near the vent. To stabilize the structure and prevent further sinking, we installed a series of foundation piers. Our helical pier system not only stopped the settlement but also allowed us to lift the home back toward its original position. In the before photo, you can see the separation above the vent growing deeper toward the left, along with cracking in the brickwork. In the after photo, both the gap and the crack have been closed, showing how effective our foundation pier installation was in restoring stability to this Union, KY home.
Before we waterproofed this basement in Guilford, IN, the space was pretty much useless for the people who lived there. Before, the homeowner constantly ran four fans in the basement, and they also made sure to keep a shop-vac handy. Also, the paint on the walls had chipped away due to moisture damage. To transform the space, we installed our interior waterproofing system. Our subfloor gutter drains were fitted in the coves of the basement, just below the floor slab and just above the footing of the home. We also installed our signature TripleSafe sump pump system in the corner of the basement. After waterproofing, the homeowner is free to finish the basement however they so please with no limitations.
This crawl space in West Harrison, IN, was far too nasty for the inhabitants of the home to bare. Above the space, on the first level of the home, were very bad smells. Also, the moldy fiberglass insulation caused allergic reactions for the homeowners, especially during the wettest and hottest days of the year. To improve the air quality throughout the rest of the home, we suggested our encapsulation system. First, we tore out all the moldy fiberglass insulation in the ceiling of the space. To replace the fiberglass, we wrapped the walls with our SilverGlo insulation panels, and we also injected spray foam insulation into the rim joists. To wrap up the project, no pun intended, we encapsulated the entire space with our CleanSpace vapor barrier, which will negate moisture entirely, improving the air quality and the smell of the rest of the home.
This basement was an old fieldstone root cellar. Fieldstone root cellars were used back in the day to store food at a cooler temperature. Although these root cellars can come with lots of moisture issues, they are pretty historic and deserve to be preserved. We were able to fix the foundation by applying a waterproofing system throughout the whole foundation by replacing their old sump pump with our newer TripleSafe sump pump. We also applied CleanSpace walls around the stone brick foundation to block out dirt and water. The result is a healthy basement that will last longer and preserve the cool stone foundation.
