The walls in this Latonia, KY, basement were bowing inwards, so we strapped them with our CarbonArmor product. This newer product is the perfect solution for walls that are identified in the early stage of wall failure. They don't take up much space, but they are super strong thanks to their carbon composition. They can be painted over, and they are thin enough fit behind a finished basement wall system. Carbon Reinforcement Straps - Latonia, KY

To install these straps, we must first free the walls from dust and dirt by sanding them down and cleaning them. We then apply an initial layer of epoxy to the walls. Then, we adhere the strap over the epoxy and attach any ceiling brackets that are needed. Lastly, we re apply another layer of epoxy to ensure the system is secured to the fullest extent.

After we adhered all the necessary straps, we then waterproofed the basement. The fresh concrete seen around the coves of this picture helps conceal our WaterGuard subfloor drains.

The easiest way to detect for lateral foundation movement is to get a 6 foot level and place it vertically up all walls. If the level is able to "rock back and forth" at any point, (not level vertically) there is probably some movement going on.
