As seen in the before photo, this basement wall in Cincinnati, OH, had a large horizontal crack running across it. This crack was a result of the middle of the wall shifting inwards over time due to external hydrostatic pressure that built up outside the foundation in the soil. To stop the wall from moving more, we braced it with our steel PowerBraces. If you look at braces in the after photo, you may be able to see a gap between the tops of the braces and the wall. This gap shows just how much the wall had moved inwards, as the braces were installed perfectly vertical. Also, not the highlight of this photo set, but we also waterproofed this basement with our subfloor drains, a vapor barrier, and an unpictured sump pump.
