Our CarbonArmor wall repair system is a very unique solution for foundation walls that have started to show a slight inflection inwards. For this basement in Morrow, OH, we started the installation process by lightly grinding the wall to make for a rough, clean surface for the glue. We then applied a layer of epoxy resin on the wall, which helped us adhere the carbon straps to the wall. We then applied a another layer of epoxy over the straps to ensure the carbon is secure to the wall. Then we secured the tops of the carbon straps to the rim joists with the ArmorLock system. The ArmorLocks are fused to each CarbonArmor strip, and are anchored to a heavy-duty steel bracket that’s lag-screwed to the rim joist. The CarbonArmor system is the perfect minimally invasive, high-strength solution for slightly bowed or cracked walls.
