The Basement Doctor of Cincinnati Before & After Photos

This unfinished basement in Trenton, OH, was struggling to stay dry. About once a month, the space would leak water onto the floor. To fix the issue, we installed our waterproofing system to capture any groundwater before it can seep onto the basement floor. As seen in the after photo, we wrapped the coves of the basement with our WaterGuard subfloor drains, we sealed the walls with our BriteWall paneling system, and we installed our sump pump system in the corner to channel water far away from the foundation. The result is a dry, clean, usable space that the homeowner can use for whatever they desire.

A 100-year-old home was having issues with water seeping into the basement. After meeting with us, the homeowner decided on our BrightWall paneling system, our WaterGuard subfloor drainage system, and our SuperSump premier sump pump system - equipped with an UltraSump battery backup system - to resolve the problems in the basement. 

BrightWall panels are used to cover the walls and will also help drain any wall leaks into the WaterGuard basement waterproofing system. The WaterGuard intercepts the water and drains it into the sump pump system. The SuperSump premier sump pump will remove the water from the basement at an elite rate. The UltraSump is the battery back-up pump system, and will turn on if there is ever a pump or power failure.

These systems working together will create a dry, comfortable basement that can be used without worries of water intrusion. The bright white color really brightens up the basement. Look at the difference this has made in this basement. 

This large basement was having some issues with the snowy weather. The walls were also leaking a lot of cold air into the home. This block wall foundation in Fort Thomas, KY, was pushing inward - and it was at a pretty severe stage of wall failure. We recommended that we install a wall repair system consisting of three of our PowerBraces in order to save the wall. These PowerBraces connect to the floor joists at the top will specialized brackets - which are designed to prevent floor joist movement. These brackets allow us to tighten the braces to straighten the wall out over time. You may also notice that we encapsulated the space with our CleanSpace vapor barrier. We also waterproofed this space by wrapping perforated drains underneath the floor, laying our dimpled membrane matting underneath the CleanSpace floor, and installing a SuperSump sump pump, (not pictured). The homeowner was not only relieved from the worry of a caving wall, but they were also happy with the added benefit of a dry and clean space.

This basement wall in West Chester, OH, was bowing inward due to years of soil pressure from the outside. Cracks were forming, and the homeowners were concerned about long-term structural damage. We installed a system of CarbonArmor straps—high-strength carbon fiber reinforcement bonded directly to the foundation wall. This clean, non-invasive solution permanently stabilized the wall and gave the homeowners peace of mind without any major excavation.
