We installed piers on this house to keep it from sinking. We were also able to raise it back. In the before picture, you can see the gap above the vent between the brick and the vinyl siding on the home. The gap grows larger in depth as you look left. You may also notice the stair-step crack in the before picture to the right of the vent. In the after picture, you can see both the gap and the crack have been closed.
This home had a settling foundation that was resulting in cracks. The before picture shows our piers attached, but not yet lifted. The after shows the closed gap after we lifted the footers with our hydraulic device. If you look really closely, you can even notice the change in the angle of the structure. Gone be sticky windows and doors!
External forces like hydrostatic pressure can cause your foundation walls to cave in. No worries though, we have the solution. Our steel I-beams called PowerBraces are not your ordinary I-beams. They have insane tensile properties and can take very strong loads. They also were designed to prevent damage to your floor joists near the top of them, for when the wall begins to straighten itself out.
This basement was falling apart before we stepped in. Persistent leaks left behind stains and rusted appliances, while hydrostatic pressure pushed against the foundation, causing the walls to bow and crack. Moisture crept into the wooden floor joists, leading to damage and musty odors. Now, this basement is dry, stable, and built to last thanks to:
A complete transformation from top to bottom.
We replaced this basement window in Monroe, OH, with an egress window. Now that the egress window is installed, the homeowners can finally begin to build a bedroom for their teenager in the basement. Egress windows allow for emergency exits from a basement, and are required by code to count as a bedroom on listings. Our beautiful RockWell window well has a natural feel and allows tons of natural light into the basement. They also have built-in steps and a cover to keep debris out.
