This cabin in Miamisburg, OH, had a sinking floor that needed addressed. The cabin was built on a shallow crawl space, and was just one one floor high. The crawl space in the cabin wasn't designed the best, as the space could have used more support columns to properly dissipate the load of the floor. As a result, the few columns that were trying their best to support the home, gradually sank into the soil in the crawl space floor. Another issue was the subflooring, which had become brittle over time due to prolonged exposure to moisture. We proposed a solution to add our SmartJack posts to help support the sagging floor joists and existing columns, replace the weak subflooring to further strengthen the floors, and encapsulate the crawl space with our CleanSpace vapor barrier to prevent moisture from damaging the new and existing wood. The result is a cabin that is built to last from settling and moisture damage.
