This crawl space in West Harrison, IN, was a breeding ground for mold, must, pests, and moisture. We encapsulated the space to transform the foundation of the home and to protect if from all the aforementioned symptoms. We started by removing all the ruined fiberglass insulation and the plastic flooring. We then wrapped the walls with our graphite SilverGlo insulation and we wrapped the dirt floor with our dimpled drainage matting. To finish the project we encapsulated the space with our CleanSpace vapor barrier. This encapsulation system completely transformed the look and feel of the space, and it will help the homeowners plenty of headaches down the road, (both figuratively and literally).

This was the photo our Inspector took upon the initial visit to the home. The fiberglass and the plastic floor were both very nasty. The homeowners could tell that it wasn't just the weather that was causing their allergic reactions.

By this point in the project, we tore out all the fiberglass. When bagging up the old insulation, our crew had to wear respirators mask. On the floor of the crawl space, we had nailed down our drainage matting, which contains dimples. These dimples help raise the vapor barrier up off of the floor, which we installed last.

We wrapped the walls with our SilverGlo insulation. These panels completely replace the need for fiberglass in the floor joists as the graphite surface helps reflect heat back into the space. Our crew member at the end of the photo is going around and taping the seams between the panels with graphite infused tape to provide the highest insulation value possible.

We also went around and injected spray foam into the rim joist cavities to prevent cold, unwanted air from entering the space from the most vulnerable spots.
