Over time, sections of concrete around the casino’s docking bay and parking garage sidewalk had settled unevenly, creating noticeable trip hazards. The sidewalk slabs had developed gaps, and the loading bay ramp had begun to slope irregularly, making it difficult for delivery carts and staff to move safely. These issues not only posed a safety concern for employees and customers, but also risked further concrete damage from ongoing water infiltration.
Solution
Our team used the PolyLevel system to lift and stabilize the settled concrete slabs around both the ramp and sidewalk. Once the concrete was restored to its proper level, we sealed the joints with NexusPro, a long-lasting silicone sealant that prevents water from seeping beneath the slabs and causing future settlement. The entire project was completed in less than a day, immediately improving safety and accessibility in two high-traffic areas of the property.
The first spot of concrete that needed repairing was the ramp that connects the loading bay and the hotel.
This image shows how uneven the ramp section was before we lifted and stabilized it.
This gap could cause one of the casinos employees to trip. At the very least, it made their jobs harder.
Here is what the ramp looked like after we leveled it out. By raising the sunken slab by an inch or two with our PolyLevel foam, we were able to even the slabs back out. We also sealed the gap with our NexusPro sealant.
Now that the ramp is even again, the workers can get back to business as usual.
This next section, near the parking garage, was commonly used by patrons. The gap near the downspout was probably caused by water.
This photo shows what the sidewalk looked like after we leveled out. This sidewalk is now safe to walk on.
This section was back near the loading dock. There was a slight gap between the siding of the warehouse and the concrete.
We raised the concrete to make it flush with the siding of the building again. We then sealed the gap between the siding and the concrete with our NexusPro sealant.
