Piers Install in Cedarville, OH
You can see four of the installed piers in this picture. The last one is just around the far corner of the wall in this picture. The piers are attached to the footer of the home in this picture, and have stabilized the home.

Sinking Wall in Cedarville, OH
You can see how this grading may be problematic for the home. This picture shows the right side of the sinking wall, and this picture was taken upon initial inspection.

Foundation Repair in Cedarville, OH
The "L" shape bracket allows the pier to latch onto the footing, securely. The slight 3-5 degree angle from vertical upright makes sure that the footer can't slide off the "L" shaped bracket. The 3-5 degree angle means the pier is slightly leaning away from the foundation at the top, and moves closer towards the foundation at the bottom of the shaft.

Problematic Soil in Cedarville, OH
Sometimes foundations can shift when the soil beneath them is muddied. When the soil is wet, it weakens the soil and allows the home to sink. As a metaphor, imagine your foot in a mud puddle.

Backfilled Pier System
This picture was taken after we backfilled the pier trench with the soil. As you can see, digging around your foundation can be quite messy, but our foreman made sure to drive over the soil to flatten it out. We also leave a couple feet of soil over the trench area because it is going to take some time for the soil to settle safely back in the hole. We like to keep it real over here at The Basement Doctor on what to expect.
