Settling Foundation in Erlanger, KY
This photo was taken during our initial inspection. Signs of settling were obvious, with large cracks visible and doors and windows sticking in certain areas.

Helical Piers in Erlanger, KY
This footer-the bottom-most part of the foundation, poured first when the structure was built-was likely not poured deep enough below the frost line. Over time, freeze-thaw cycles can cause a foundation to settle. During our repair, we also noticed the soil was very dry and brittle. In Northern Kentucky, clay soil shrinks as it dries, creating space for the home to settle into. Whatever the cause, our helical pier system provides a permanent solution, stabilizing the foundation for the long term, as shown here.

Our helical piers are shaped like a screw. This shape helps us drill them down far into the earth without displacing/disturbing the soil.

To install our helical piers into stable, load-bearing soil, we first expose the home's footing. Once the piers are drilled down, we secure them to the underside of the footing using our "L"-shaped brackets, which latch firmly beneath the foundation for a strong, permanent connection.

After we installed our piers, we then backfilled the trenches with soil to conceal them. These dirt piles will settle and compact back down to a flush level over time.
