Interior concrete floor slab raised with PolyLevel Injection.

A homeowner called The Basement Doctor of Cincinnati regarding an interior concrete slab floor.  This part of the home is an addition and the homeowner has had problems with the floors sagging and the drywall cracking in that area of the home.

The homeowner met with Chris, a Certified Inspector, who recommended that PolyLevel Injection is used to raise up the concrete slab back to a level position.  This is done by drilling holes into the slab and injecting the foam under the slab.  The foam expands and fills the voids underneath the slab until it raises the slab. The holes are filled in and soon the slab will be ready to walk on and the room can be used again.

WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System is a patented, sub-floor piping system that is used to intercept the water that seeps into the basement.  WaterGuard is designed to not sit in the dirt so that it will not become clogged.  The patented WaterGuard System will drain the water into a sump pump system to be pumped out of the basement.

Waterproofing on one wall in Cincinnati, OH

A homeowner in Cincinnati, Ohio was having problems with water seeping in on one wall of the basement.  The homeowner met with Mike S., a Certified Inspector, who recommended that WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System and a Supersump Premier Sump Pump System along with an UltraSump Battery Back-up System is installed to resolve the problems with this wall in the basement.

WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System is a patented piping system that is installed under the floor around the perimeter of the foundation wall.  The WaterGuard piping will intercept the water that is seeping in and will drain it into a sump pump system to be pumped out of the basement.

The SuperSump Premier Sump Pump System is a high-end Zoeller cast iron pump that is used to pump water out of the basement.  The SuperSump also includes the WaterWatch Alarm, SuperLiner, and Airtight Lid.  The WaterWatch Alarm will sound if there is a pump or power failure to alert the homeowner to a problem with the system that needs to be resolved.  The Airtight Lid keeps water from evaporating back into the basement, keeps out odors and insects and helps to quiet the pump.  The Airtight Lid also has an Airtight Floor drain that will allow water from a plumbing leak to drain into the liner, but the water cannot come back up into the basement.  The UltraSump Battery Back-up Pump was also installed into the Superliner so it will not take up much space in the basement.  The UltraSump comes with its own battery and charging station.

Water that was seeping in at the floor seam resolved in St. Bernard, OH

An older home in St. Bernard was experiencing some water flowing into the basement from the seam between the wall and the floor.  The homeowner called The Basement Doctor of Cincinnati to find a solution to this problem.  The homeowner met with a certified inspector who recommended that WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System, a SuperSump Premier Sump Pump System, and a SaniDry Sedona was installed to resolve the water problem in the basement.

WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System is a sub-floor piping system that intercepts the water that is seeping into the basement and drains it into the sump pump system to be pumped out of the basement.  A Trench Drain was also installed across the doorway, like WaterGuard it intercepts the water to drain it into the sump pump system, the difference is this has a grated top for the water to flow through.

The SuperSump Premier Sump Pump System is a 1/3 hp system that can pump up to 2,650 gallons of water per hour out of the basement.  It includes the WaterWatch Alarm, Airtight Lid, and a SuperLiner.  This is the best pump available from 50 models and will perform reliably for many years.

The SaniDry Sedona is used to dry and filter the air.  It is important to control the amount of humidity in the home to keep it comfortable and to discourage mold and musty odors that can inhabit the basement.  The filters of the SaniDry also filter out mold spores, dust mite droppings and other particles in the air.

These products working together will give the homeowner a valuable space that can be used without the inconvenience of water intrusion, humidity, and musty odors.

Crawl Space Encapsulation in Cincinnati, OH

We encapsulated a crawl space for a homeowner in Cincinnati, Ohio.  The products installed for the homeowner are a SmartSump Crawl Space Drainage System, CleanSpace with Drainage Matting, CleanSpace Vent Covers, SilverGlo Crawl Space Wall Insulation, SmartJack Floor Supports, SaniDry Sedona, and the Turtl Crawl Space Access System.

The SmartSump is made especially for crawl spaces.  One SMART feature of this pump is the WaterWatch Alarm.  The WaterWatch Alarm will sound if there is a pump or power failure and also if there is a plumbing leak.  Many homeowners do not enter the crawl space often and may not realize there is a plumbing leak until damage has been done.  If there is water leaking into the crawl space the water will fill the pocket on the Airtight Lid and sound the Alarm.  The water will be drained into the Airtight Floor Drain and then be pumped out of the crawl space.  This will save the homeowner from having to deal with a flooded crawl space.

CleanSpace Drainage Matting has dimples throughout the matting to create a channel for water to flow out of the crawl space.  The CleanSpace liner is a white plastic liner that is attached to the walls and floor of the crawl space to provide a vapor barrier between the ground and the home.  CleanSpace Vent Covers are used to cover the existing vents to create an airtight seal and prevent debris from entering the crawl space.

SilverGlo Crawl Space Wall Insulation is polystyrene foam insulation that has been infused with graphite particles to reflect heat.  This makes the crawl space and the floors above warmer in the winter.

SmartJack Floor Supports are steel piers that are set into a structural stone and then installed under the floor that needs to be raised.  The adjustable screw can be used to jack up the floor to the original position.  This can be adjusted in the future if needed.

The SaniDry Sedona filters and dries the air in the crawl space to prevent the home from becoming too humid making it uncomfortable and encouraging mold growth and musty odors.  The filter in the SaniDry eliminates mold spores, dust mite droppings, and particles in the air.

The TURTL Crawl Space Access System is made of a rigid plastic that will never rot, rust, or need to be painted.  The TURTL door is strong enough to stand on, can be locked for security, and is weather tight.

With these products installed the homeowner will have a clean and dry crawl space that will also help to create a healthier environment in the living area of the home.

WaterGuard installed in Cincinnati, OH

WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System is our patented piping system that is installed along the basement foundation walls.  This piping system is used to collect the water that is seeping into the basement and then it will drain it into the sump pump system to be pumped out of the basement.  A TrenchDrain is a piping system that has a grated top that will allow water to flow in from the top of the pipe, into the WaterGuard and into the sump pump system to also be pumped out of the basement.

The SuperSump Premier Sump Pump System is a 1/3 hp Zoeller Cast Iron Pump.  The SuperSump also includes the WaterWatch Alarm, Airtight Lid, and the SuperLiner.  The WaterWatch Alarm will sound if there is a pump or power failure.  This will alert the homeowner to a problem that needs to be resolved with the system.  The Airtight Lid keeps water from evaporating back into the basement, keeps objects from falling into the liner and helps to quiet the pump.  The SuperLiner houses the pump.  The SuperLiner has holes throughout the liner to allow water to also flow in from under the floor.

WaterGuard and a SuperSump Premier Sump Pump System installed to resolve basement water in Cincinnati, OH

We installed a WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System along with a SuperSump Premier Sump Pump System for a commercial building in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System is a patented basement waterproofing system that was designed by Basement Systems.  The patented piping system is installed into the floor along the foundation walls and is used to intercept the water that seeps into the basement.

The water that flows into the WaterGuard is drained into a sump pump system, such as a SuperSump Premier Sump Pump System to be pumped out of the basement.  The SuperSump Premier Sump Pump System is a 1/3 hp sump pump and has several unique features that make this pump a great choice for your basement.  It includes the WaterWatch Alarm, SuperLiner and Airtight Lid.

The WaterWatch Alarm will sound in the event of a pump or power failure.  This will alert the homeowner to the problem giving the homeowner ample time to resolve the problem before damage occurs.

The SuperLiner is a rugged, heavy-duty liner that is installed into the floor to house the sump pump system.  The SuperLiner has holes throughout it to allow water to also flow in from under the floor.

The Airtight Lid keeps water from evaporating back into the basement, keeps out odors, and helps to quiet the pump.  The Airtight Lid also has an Airtight Floor Drain to allow water from a plumbing leak to drain down into the liner, while maintaining an airtight seal.

The WaterGuard and SuperSump Systems working together will provide the homeowner with a dry basement so that the homeowner can use this valuable space.

PowerBraces used to resolve failing wall in Cincinnati, OH

The Patented PowerBrace System stabilizes the foundation walls using zinc-plated steel beams.  The beams are custom-fit to your basement walls and secured tightly against the basement walls with brackets attached to the floors and floor joists.  The PowerBrace has a unique adjustable bracket that can be tightened over time to potentially reverse wall failure.

PowerBraces to resolve a bowing wall in Cincinnati, OH

What causes a basement wall to bow?  The soil that is around the outside of the home expands with heavy rains and freezing temperatures.  This expansion causes the soil to press against the foundation wall.  Over time, the wall can no longer support the pressure and it causes bowing, cracking and tipping.

What can be done to resolve this problem?  The PowerBrace System is designed to immediately stabilize a wall that is bowing, cracking or tipping.  The PowerBrace System consists of steel I-beams that are secured tight against the wall anchored with brackets attached to the floor joist and floor.  The PowerBraces will immediately stabilize the foundation wall and the adjustable bracket can be tightened over time to potentially reverse the wall failure.

We have installed PowerBraces to the walls of this basement to stabilize and protect them against further movement.  In the picture, you can see the top bracket that can be adjusted over time.  PowerBraces can also be used along with other products such as WaterGuard, CleanSpace Wall System, BrightWall Panels and ThermalDry Flooring.

WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System is a perimeter piping system used to intercept water that seeps into the basement and drains the water into the sump pump system.

The Sump pump system installed for this job is the SuperSump Premier Sump Pump System.  The SuperSump is a high-end Zoeller 1/3 hp Zoeller sump pump.  It also includes the WaterWatch Alarm System that will sound an alarm if the water reaches the point that the pump should have turned on or if there is a power failure.  This will alert the homeowner to a problem with the system that needs to be resolved.  The SuperLiner has 96 holes throughout it to also allow water to flow in from under the floor.  The Airtight Lid will keep moisture from evaporating back into the basement, keep things from falling into the liner and also helps to quiet the pump.  Also installed, and highly recommended, is the UltraSump Battery Back-up System.  The UltraSump will automatically turn on during pump or power failures and will run on battery power.  It comes with its own power pack and charging station.

Helical Piers to resolve cracks that can be seen from the inside and outside in Liberty Twp. OH

A Liberty Township, Ohio homeowner called The Basement Doctor of Cincinnati regarding problems with cracks that go all the way through the foundation wall.  The homeowner met with Chris, a Certified Inspector who recommended that Helical Pier System is installed to resolve this problem.

The Helical Pier system is steel pier that is mechanically "screwed" into the ground until reaching competent soil or bedrock.  A steel foundation bracket is attached to the pier and to the foundation footing.  The weight of the home is transferred from the unstable soil to the helical pier.  The system is designed to potentially lift your home back to level.

WaterGuard and SuperSump used to resolve water leaking through the basement wall in Cincinnati, OH

A Cincinnati, Ohio homeowner was having problems with water seeping through a finished basement wall.  The basement has a poured foundation and there was no sump installed.  The homeowner met with Walt, a Certified Inspector, who recommended that WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System and a SuperSump Premier Sump Pump System is installed to resolve this problem.

WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System is a piping system installed along the foundation walls to intercept the water that is seeping into the basement.  The water is then pumped into a sump pump system to be drained out of the basement.

The SuperSump Premier Sump Pump System has a high-end 1/3 hp Zoeller cast iron pump.  It also includes the WaterWatch Alarm System, the SuperLiner and the Airtight Lid.  The WaterWatch Alarm will sound an alarm if the water reaches the point that the pump should have turned on.  This will alert the homeowner to a problem that needs to be resolved with the pump system.  The SuperLiner has 96 holes in it that will allow water to drain in from under the floor.  The Airtight Lid keeps water from evaporating back into the basement, keeps things from falling into the liner, keeps out bugs and odors and quiets the pump.

WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System along with the SuperSump Premier Sump Pump System working together will keep this basement dry for the homeowner.  Now that the water is contained the homeowner will be able to refinish the basement without worries of water intrusion.

Crawl space transformation in Cincinnati, OH

A Cincinnati homeowner had a guest house that was built in the 70's that had a block foundation and there was no sump pump installed.   The homeowner had problems with water in the crawl space and the insulation was falling down.  He wanted a permanent solution to this problem so he called The Basement Doctor of Cincinnati for help with this problem.

One of our certified inspectors, Steve, recommended a SmartSump Crawl Space Drainage System, and UltraSump Battery Back-up System, CleanSpace Crawl Space Encapsulation System, CleanSpace Vent Covers, and an Everlast Crawlspace Door.

Not a lot of homeowners visit the crawl space area often.  The SmartSump is designed especially for crawl spaces!   It has a unique lid design so that if water leaks from a plumbing problem it would fill a special pocket on the lid and sounds an alarm alerting the homeowner to a problem.  The UltraSump battery back-up pumping system has a second pump in case of primary pump failure or power failure.  It has its own power pack and charger.  An alarm will also sound when this pump is running alerting the homeowner to an issue with the sump pump systems.

CleanSpace Encapsulation System is a 20-mil thick liner that is attached to the walls and floor of the crawl space to permanently separate the crawl space area from the ground below.  The white finish makes it easier to see in the crawlspace and keeps it free of mold, insects, and dirt.  CleanSpace Vent Covers help to provide an air-tight seal.  An Everlast door is our crawl space door that makes it easier to access the crawl space.

With the CleanSpace Encapsulation System, SmartSump and UltraSump Systems, along with the CleanSpace Vent Covers installed the homeowner will not have to worry about water in the crawlspace.  The Everlast Door will make it easier to access the crawlspace when needed.

Polylevel Used to Raise Concrete Porch Slab in Cincinnati, OH

Dave, a homeowner in Cincinnati called The Basement Doctor of Cincinnati to schedule an inspector to give him a free estimate to lift his front porch slab.  He met with our Certified Inspector, Mark, who suggested Polylevel concrete lifting.  Polylevel is a high-density foam that is used to fill the voids under the slab and lift the concrete slab back into its original position.  In the photo, you can see that the Polylevel injection was done with little disruption to his porch.

The homeowner was very happy with his job and said "Your solution requires far less damage to the yard or to the stone on the porch. Other options such as slab jack would have been very disruptive with a lot of side damage. Cleanup was easy."
