This homeowner in Brookville, OH, had concerns with their musty smelling crawl space. The builder of the home told them there was a vapor barrier beneath the pea gravel in the floor of the crawl space, so the homeowner was confused as to why it still smelled so bad. Our Inspector dug through the pea gravel to find the vapor barrier covered in water. We explained to the homeowner that the best way to prepare this crawl space for a long future was to encapsulate it properly by sealing the space with our CleanSpace liner. We started by laying down our dimpled drainage matting all across the pea gravel floor, (which will help provide strength & moisture control underneath the vapor barrier we installed over it). We then wrapped the entire space with our CleanSpace vapor barrier, making sure to tape it at all the seams, and we even wrapped the concrete pillars. We also installed SilverGlo insulation along the walls, which will help the homeowner save money on energy in the winter. Lastly, we installed our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to keep the transformed space dry as can be, 24/7. The homeowner was happy with the outcome, and more happy that their spouse has healthy air to breathe.

A Brookville, Ohio homeowner had water leaking into the crawl space from a bathtub that caused damage to the floor joists in the crawl space.   The homeowner called the Basement Doctor of Cincinnati for help resolving this problem.  We installed a SmartJack Floor Support System, CleanSpace Encapsulation system and CleanSpace Vent Covers, a SaniDry Sedona, and a SuperSump Premier Sump Pump System to resolve this problem for the homeowner.

The SmartJack Floor Supports are installed by compacting a structural stone footing in place.  A steel pier is cut to size and installed under the area that needs floor support.  The adjustable screw will jack up the floor to the level position and can be readjusted in the future if needed.

CleanSpace Encapsulation System is a plastic liner that is attached to the walls and floor of the crawl space.  This provides a vapor-proof barrier between the ground below and the home.  The CleanSpace Vent Covers seal the vents to prevent cold air and moisture from entering the crawl space.

The SaniDry Sedona is a dehumidifier that dries and purifies the air.  Too much humidity in the air is uncomfortable and also encourages mold growth.  The SaniDry will filter out mold spores, particles in the air and help you to have a healthier home environment.
