This homeowner was dealing with a sagging/sloping floor issue in their kitchen. The finished floor wasn't just bouncy to walk across, the planks were completely breaking apart at the seams. The reason the kitchen floor was falling apart was because moisture had ruined much of the wooden framing below in the crawl space. To repair, we started by removing the ruined subfloor. We then had to replace/repair all of the floor joists in the crawl space below. We then installed a steel beam underneath the newly replaced floor joists in the middle of the kitchen, and then supported/lifted the steel beam with our SmartJack crawl posts for some much needed additional support underneath the kitchen. Next, we wrapped the shallow crawl space with our CleanSpace vapor barrier to make sure that this newly repaired wooden framing stays safe against moisture in the future. To wrap up the project, we installed all new subfloor so that the homeowners can quickly get back to finishing the flooring and putting their kitchen appliances back. This story highlights the importance of routine crawl space inspections to ensure your wooden framing doesn't become damaged beyond saving from moisture.
This home in West Milton, OH, had a sidewalk and garage floor that had both sunken into troubling soil. We raised and leveled out the sidewalk and the garage slab with our PolyLevel foam. We injected our foam through pea-sized holes that we drilled into the concrete. This foam is lightweight and strong, which allows us to lift sunken concrete. After leveling everything out and sealing the holes we drilled, we then sealed the cracks and joints in the concrete with our NexusPro sealant, which will help keep water from infiltrating the soil underneath the concrete. This concrete repair system doesn't just level everything out, it also makes sure the concrete doesn't move any more.
