Many homes in our area have both a crawl space and a basement, as was the case for this project in Germantown, OH. The homeowners were frustrated with their 2.5-foot crawl space, which was musty and emitting unpleasant odors. The smells were especially strong whenever they went down to the basement to do laundry, store items, or work out. Wanting a solution, they reached out to us for crawl space encapsulation.
We sent one of our inspectors for a free quote, and after reviewing the proposal, the homeowners agreed to move forward. Within a couple of weeks, we began the project. For smaller crawl spaces like this one, we have specialized crews experienced in working within tight areas. A two-man team, Mike and Oscar, completed the encapsulation in just five hours, leaving the homeowners with a cleaner, fresher space.

Using PolyLEVEL, an expansive polyurethane foam we lift and level sunken concrete slabs. The foam expands beneath the surface of the concrete lifting the sunken concrete slab. The foam cures over the course of a day leaving a powerful and lightweight foundation beneath the slab. PolyLEVEL is the preferred method over traditional forma of mudjacking or slab jacking.
This homeowner in Germantown, OH, wanted an egress window installed in their basement for a couple of good reasons. Firstly, egress windows are required by state code for basements with bedrooms in them. Secondly, an egress window lets in a ton of natural light in a basement. Both of these reasons will provide a sense of security and improve well-being, since natural sunlight can boost mood and make a basement feel far less closed-off. We started by digging a hole next to the foundation, and then we cut the wall with a large saw, making sure to keep dust away from the basement. We then installed a 48x48 glass window that can swing open fully. We then installed our gray RockWell window well, in the gray colorway. We made sure to add gravel at the base of the window for added drainage, and we also made sure to seal everything with a professional grade caulk. Lastly, we put the retractable translucent lid on top of the well to keep the well protected from water and debris. All that was left to do after taking the photos was peeling the protective film off the lid. Now if its a sunny day, the person living in the basement can open up their new basement window to get some fresh air and feel the sunshine.
We inspected a property in Germantown, Ohio that was having issues with sloping indoor flooring. We determined that this sloping was caused by unsteady soils beneath the concrete flooring giving out over time. We used a series of high-strength PolyLevel polyurethane foam injections to lift these floors and permanently stabilize them.
We serviced a home in Germantown, Ohio that was having issues with a settling foundation and sloping basement floors. In order to permanently stabilize the foundation, we installed a set of 11 Helical Piers around the outside of the home. Helical Piers are durable, underground piers that and drilled deep into the ground and will transfer the weight of a structure from incompetent soils to load-bearing soils and bedrock. We also evened out the floor through a series of PolyLevel injections, which raised and stabilized the floor in the basement. These measures should provide permanent stability within the home and help to potentially resolve some of the issues caused by the uneven flooring and foundation.
