Using PolyLEVEL, an expansive polyurethane foam we lift and level sunken concrete slabs. The foam expands beneath the surface of the concrete lifting the sunken concrete slab. The foam cures over the course of a day leaving a powerful and lightweight foundation beneath the slab. PolyLEVEL is the preferred method over traditional forma of mudjacking or slab jacking.
This home in California, KY, had a sinking foundation on the backside of the home. We suspected that the problematic side of the home was settling because of a specific tree, and because of the grade of the land. If you notice, the tree was pretty close to the foundation, and the roots were even closer. In fact, we had to cut most of the roots in order to excavate down to the homes footer when we installed our piers. Either way, we installed a row of piers on the sinking side of the home in order to stabilize it. We started by drilling our piers down into load-bearing strata, where we are able to guarantee that the piers won't ever move in the future. We then transferred the weight of the home to the load-bearing strata by attaching our piers to the footing of the home with our "L" shaped brackets. If you look in the picture, you'll notice that the two closest piers had the brackets attached, while the rest of the piers had not yet been secured. After the picture was taken, we would then secure the rest of the piers, then backfill the trench with the soil in order to conceal the system. After the project, we were able to guarantee that this side of the home won't settle any further for the lifetime of the structure.
