Basement Waterproofing Case Studies: CleanSpace Encapsulation and Helical Piers installed in Lebanon, OH
Challenge
A home in Lebanon, Ohio was experiencing water seeping into the crawl space of the home. The homeowner also noticed that cracks were forming on the outside of the foundation. The recommendation was for this home to have a CleanSpace Encapsulation System, a SuperSump Premier Sump Pump System, a Sanidry Sedona, and an Everlast access well and an Everlast Door to provide the homeowner with a dry crawl space. The homeowner also had a Helical Pier System installed to address the concerns of the cracks in the foundation.
Solution
We installed a CleanSpace Encapsulation System for this homeowner. The CleanSpace Liner is a 20-mil-thick liner that is attached to the walls and floor of the crawlspace providing a moisture-proof barrier between the ground and the home. CleanSpace Vent Covers are used to cover the existing vents to provide an airtight seal and to keep debris from entering the crawl space.
A Supersump Premier Sump Pump System was installed to remove the water from the crawl space. This system includes a 1/3 hp cast iron pump, CleanPump Stand, Airtight Lid, liner, and a WaterWatch Alarm. The WaterWatch Alarm sounds if there is a pump or power failure, alerting the homeowner to a problem with the system that needs to be resolved.
A SaniDry Sedona is used to keep the humidity low. Controlling the amount of humidity in the crawl space helps to prevent mold growth and musty odors in the crawl space. A crawl space is an important part of the home and a healthier crawl space also makes the living space healthier.
The EverLast Access Well and Everlast Door are installed to make access into the crawl space easier for the homeowner. Once the crawl space has been encapsulated, the homeowner can even use it for storage.
