Challenge
Jon, a homeowner in Cincinnati, called The Basement Doctor of Cincinnati to solve some problems he was having in his basement. The house was built in the early 1900's and had a poured foundation. Over the years water has found its way into the basement. There were areas of the walls that had been damaged due to the water seepage. Solution
Our Certified Inspector recommended a SuperSump pump, WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System, and CleanSpace Wall System.
The SuperSump pump system is a high-end 1/3 hp Zoeller cast iron pump with a mechanical float switch. It pumps 2,650 gallons of water an hour. It also has a WaterWatch alarm that sounds if the water rises to the point that the pump should have turned on, alerting the homeowner of a problem. It has a SuperLiner that won't cave in or crack. The Airtight Lid keeps moisture from returning into the basement and is so strong you could stand on it.
WaterGuard is our patented basement waterproofing system. The WaterGuard system is a piping system that intercepts water at the perimeter of the foundation. The water is drained it out of the basement through the sump pump system.
The CleanSpace Wall System is a white, 20-mil thick reinforced plastic liner that is permanently attached to the walls of your basement. The bright white color really brightens the basement and stops water vapor from penetrating into the basement and is an economical way to cover those unsightly walls.
With these systems installed, Jon will now have a space that he can use without having to worry about water seeping into the basement.
