The Basement Doctor Cincinnati has been chosen as a 2014 Torch Award Finalist - Image 1The Torch Awards is a program of The Center for Ethics at BBB. The Torch Award application process necessitates a thorough self-evaluation of the business or nonprofit’s ethical practices and policies. Then, based on the responses, a third party judging panel selects finalists based on the business or nonprofit’s commitment to ethics as outlined in the application.

"Torch Award Finalists distinguish themselves as ethical businesses and nonprofits that are doing the right thing,” said Jocile Ehrlich, president & CEO of BBB. “This honor is not a popularity contest but one in which those who were named finalists prove their deep commitment to ethics.”

The finalists are:
BM2 Freight Services, Inc. - Highland Heights, Kentucky.
Greater Comfort Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. - Newport, Kentucky.
Infintech - Cincinnati, OH
Shiver Security Services - Mason, OH
The Basement Doctor - Symmes, Ohio
Cincinnati Youth Collaborative - Cincinnati, Ohio
iSPACE, Inc. - Sharonville, Ohio
Over-the-Rhine & Walnut Hills Kitchens and Pantry - Cincinnati, Ohio

“This isn't an award about numbers; The Torch Award application process requires true self evaluation to determine if your ‘walk’ matches your ‘talk’,” explained Ehrlich.

The Center for Ethics at BBB will host a gala in the Pavilion Ballroom at the Horseshoe Casino on October 23, 2014, to celebrate the achievement of the finalist. More information about Cincinnati BBB and The Center for Ethics at BBB is available by visiting bbb.org.
